Design Process

> Any of our standard models can be changed to your personal tastes and needs, or, we will design a home for you starting from scratch.

> We complete a design questionnaire which will reflect your selection of home components and building techniques. For example, we will ask you about the type foundation you want (slab, pier and beam, etc), roof members (logs, standard rafters, trusses, etc.), interior finishes, where you want logs, desired changes to the standard plan, etc. A fee of $0.95/ square foot is collected to begin the preliminary design process. Up to three sets of changes are allowed in the process to insure that everything is right before we begin final design. Before beginning the final design, a deposit of 10% of the estimated cost of your log package is collected. This puts your project in our log inventory system and also locks in the price for one year for your protection against price increases.

3-D Design Service

We use state-of-the-art 3-D design software. This enables our clients to virtually visit their log home during the design phase. Because of this our customers can make better design choices based on 3-D models that are provided. A virtual walk-through and sun studies are also available for an additional cost.
